Our Courses

Puppy Foundations is a four (4) week course targeted at puppies aged 8 – 16 weeks with a focus on starting their training journey and building confidence.

What is covered:

• Appropriate socialisation and exposure activities including structured puppy play, surfaces, objects and sounds
• Education on body language and improving confidence
• Introduction to effective use of positive reinforcement including using a marker
• Teaching calm and focus
• Problem solving and advice including toilet training, chewing, biting, jumping up,
• Introduction to walking nicely by your side
• Behaviour preventing activities including handling, resource guarding and separation anxiety
• Teaching sit and down positions
• Introduction to recalls
• Developing dog-owner relationship

Puppy Plus is a six (6) week course targeted at puppies aged 4 – 8 months.

Our Puppy Foundation course builds strong core training, with Puppy Plus building on these skills with a focus on age relevant behaviours for older puppies.

What is covered:

• Teaching focus and working with distractions
• Effective use of positive reinforcement and a marker
• Foundation training for walking nicely by your side on lead
• Teaching sit, down and stay positions
• Recalls
• Appropriate socialisation for adolescent dogs with dogs and people
• Settling on a mat or bed
• Advice and activities for managing and preventing adolescent behaviour problems including jumping, home alone, door etiquette
• Intergration of training into lifestyle and family
• Enriching dog-owner relationship
• Introduction to tricks

The Everyday Foundations is a six (6) week course suited to dogs from 8 months.

This course is focused on embedding training foundations and managing age relevant behaviors.

What is covered:

• Settle on a mat
• Walking nicely on lead even with distractions
• Positions – sit, drop, stand
• Stay / wait
• Coming when called even around other dogs
• Appropriate socialisation with other dogs and people
• Polite greetings with dogs and people
• Tricks for fun and safety
• General problem solving for chewing, nipping / mouthing, jumping up, barking, home alone issues

Homework exercises and notes are provided to assist handlers with their training between classes.
